About the Book
In this updated edition of her one-of-a-kind book Art for All, artist and teacher Liz Byron Loya demonstrates how to apply the inclusive principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to art instruction. This new edition includes important updates aligning with concepts found in UDL Guidelines 3.0 related to culture and social and emotional skills, and presents new ideas for classroom practice and exciting goal-oriented projects.
Art for All: Planning for Variability in the Visual Arts Classroom, Second Edition offers teachers classroom-ready advice on how to transform their art instruction practice in sustainable ways with the UDL framework. Readers learn to set meaningful UDL learning goals in their classroom connected to National Core Arts Standards (NCAS) or state standards, measure progress, customize instruction, and engage learners at every grade. Art for All provides art teachers with the tools to discover new and inspiring ways to help all students appreciate and embrace themselves as artists.

Praise for Art for All, Second Edition
The new edition of Art for All by Liz Byron Loya is a comprehensive and timely update that thoughtfully integrates culturally sustaining pedagogy, SEL, and practical classroom strategies, making it an essential resource for modern art educators.
Lauren Stichter, Director and Associate Professor of Art Education, Moore College of Art and Design
Liz does it again! Cell phones, AI, and culturally sustaining instruction with Universal Design for Learning at the center-this is the only book out there that covers these topics, and Liz does it with humor, examples, images, and storytelling. This is a great text to introduce UDL to visual art teachers with its focus on clear goals, NCAS standards, and many, many examples of how to 'do' UDL in the art room.
